Upcycled Lamps At Three Years

It has now been three years since the first “leg lamp” started me on this craft journey. Latest count is 368 lamps to date, each one unique. 232 were purchased, and 64 were donated to charity or gifted. I kept a few for myself too!

As we end the third year of Upcycled Lamps existence, I want to take a moment to thank all those who donated materials to the enterprise (and hope I didn’t forget anybody!) – Tom and Robin Gavin, Mindy VanderVen, Peg Fenstermacher, Scott Wiggins, Kim Ogren, Carol Spence, Mary and Doug Candland, Robyn Wishna, Jon Reis, Brad Rauch, Verna Harrison, Ducka Kelly, Jessica Chalek, Carol Spence, Jonathan Joseph and Beth Clark, and Shelley Cooper.

Also appreciated were those who provided space – Travis Hyde Properties, State Theatre, Community School of Music and the Arts, Community Arts Partnership, Sunny Days, ChaSaMa, Mimi’s Attic and Goldenrod Depot. Special thanks to those individuals at each who smoothed the way.

Too numerous to mention are those who purchased lamps (or more than one) and the kind and supportive comments from so many family, friends and acquaintances. The real reward is the look of delight when someone comes into a lamp display and sees one that tickles their fancy. Thank you all! Inspiration to do more in 2024.

And a special thanks to my wife Mel (aka the Shade Guru and Upcycled Lamps Webmaster) who (along with daughter Emily and son Pete) also puts up with the periodic accumulation of lamps throughout our home.
